In 1995, the Chamber joined forces with the Municipal Economic Development Agency and the New Britain Downtown District in order to better coordinate economic development and to cultivate a pro-business environment within the community.
As a member, you will receive the benefit of all three organizations working for you.
Networking Opportunities: The Chamber hosts various networking events and seminars where business professionals can gather and expand their customer and contact base. Such events include Business after Hours, Women’s AM Network, and Chamber Breakfasts. In addition, the Chamber hosts a well attended Annual Meeting and a popular summer Golf Outing each year. Event sponsorship opportunities are available at these events.
Chamber Referral Program: Every day, the Chamber is asked to make referrals for a wide range of products and services. It is our policy to only refer Chamber members!
Electronic Newsletter: For an affordable price, members can buy ad space in our bi-monthly newsletter that is emailed to more than 500 recipients. This email blast keeps members up to date on current and upcoming events, chamber news, and membership information.
Social Media: The Chamber maintains a very active Facebook page, Blog, and Twitter. These social media outlets inform members of the latest in Chamber news and events. These sites are updated on a daily basis and provide great exposure for Chamber members.
Web Page Advertising Opportunities: Chamber members can take out ad space on this website for minimum costs and maximum exposure of products and services. Contact Teresa at the Chamber to find out more!
Media and Publicity: Chamber has strong working relationships with The Hartford Courant and The New Britain Herald, and will work with you to publicize newsworthy business items and stories, as well as to help orchestrate grand openings or special events, visited by elected officials.
Chamber Directory: The Chamber of Commerce publishes an annual business directory. These directories are distributed to Chamber member businesses, who are encouraged to patronize fellow members. The directories are also distributed to the public. Chamber members also receive a reduced rate to purchase advertising in the directory.
Business Advocacy: If you need an advocate on your side at City Hall or with state agencies, we will guide you through the governmental bureaucracy and speak on your behalf at agency meetings and hearings. New Britain is also a targeted investment community and certain companies may be eligible for Enterprise Zone benefits, tax abatements and other financial incentives.
Small Business Counseling: Business counseling is available for FREE to new, growing and/or start-up businesses. The Chamber offers this service in conjunction with UCONN's Small Business Development Center and the SCORE program - Senior Corp of Retired Executives. Insurance at competitive rates is also offered through the Chamber. The Chamber will partner you with an insurance representative so you can pick the plan that is right for you!
Chamber Purchasing Policy: The Chamber only does business with Chamber members. As a member, you will be added to our vendor list and given an opportunity to submit bids for relevant products and services; and or be assured that the Chamber will patronize your business when applicable.
Insurance: The Chamber offers small business owners a variety of competitively priced plans through our local member insurance agents. Such products include but are not limited to: Life insurance, Medicare Advantage Plans, Health Savings Account, Cobra Administration, Worksite Homeowners & Auto, Dental Insurance and much more. The Chamber will get you in contact with local area agents who are Chamber Insurance Members so you can find the plan that works for you!
