Does your kitty love people? Maybe your kitty has what it takes to become a member of our Pet Assisted Therapy Program. Jerome Home is offering complementary sessions to help prepare feline lovers become part of the feline pet therapy team at Jerome Home. The sessions will enhance a handlers understanding of basic feline behaviors, as well as provide simple, gentle training techniques to prepare for registration through “Love On A Leash”—The Foundation For Pet-Provided Therapy. 

Sessions will be facilitated by Terri Jennings, Certified Cat Trainer currently registered through “Love On a Leash” and a Jerome Home Pet Partner Feline team member. Informational sessions will be held Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. beginning  April 25th and will run for five weeks. The need is great and the rewards are many!

We seek volunteers to work with our adult students once a week for two hours in a small group. No experience is necessary to become a tutor - training, observations, and support are provided.

We welcome all prospective tutors age 18 and over with a minimum of a high school degree and very good writing skills. June English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) training takes place 6/17, 6/20, 6/24 &amp; 6/27. July Basic Literacy (BL) training takes place 7/8, 7/11, 7/15, 7/18, 7/22 &amp; 7/25.
