• Chamber Referral Program Every day, the Chamber is asked to make referrals for a wide range of products and services. Many potential customers still view Chamber membership as a credibility factor. It is our policy to only refer Chamber members. When a referral is made, for example, you will be sent a postcard from us informing you of the referral so you can track new customers.

• Chamber Directory The Chamber of Commerce publishes an annual business directory. These directories are distributed to Chamber member businesses, who are encouraged to patronize fellow members. The directories are also distributed to the public. Chamber members also receive a reduced rate to purchase advertising in the directory.

• Information will be sent to you via our monthly newsletter regarding business notes of interest to you as well as opportunities for you to promote your business. We hold networking events, informational seminars and other types of events where you can meet other business owners and expand your base of contacts and customers. There are also a number of event sponsorship opportunities through the Chamber where you could get your name out to a large audience.

• Seminars and Events of interest to you and your employees are offered in spring and fall sessions. Topics include the state mandated Sexual Harassment prevention training for supervisors, Hiring & Firing, Workers Compensation, Marketing & Advertising and Access to Financing.

• Business Advocacy If you need an advocate on your side at City Hall or with state agencies, we will guide you through the governmental bureaucracy and speak on your behalf at agency meetings and hearings. New Britain is also a targeted investment community and certain companies may be eligible for Enterprise Zone benefits, tax abatements and other financial incentives.

• Small Business Counseling is available for free to new, growing and/or start-up businesses. The Chamber offers this service in conjunction with UCONN's Small Business Development Center and the SCORE program - Senior Corp of Retired Executives.

• Insurance at competitive rates is also offered through the Chamber. The two most popular programs that business owners like for their families and employees is Connecticare and Blue Care. In addition, there are also specially priced insurance products for dental care and workmen's compensation. Call to compare rate plans today!

• Chamber Purchasing Policy The Chamber only does business with Chamber members. As a member, you will be added to our vendor list and given an opportunity to submit bids for relevant products and services; and or be assured that the Chamber will patronize your business when applicable.

The New Britain Chamber of Commerce has designed a specific set of benefits to help businesses promote their products and services.

• Marketing Mailing You can market your products and services directly to over 500 members of the business community through the Chamber's monthly marketing mailing. For a $50 base fee, we will mail your flyers to our mailing list. You supply only the 550 copies and we coordinate and pay for the stuffing, labeling, postage and delivery through the Post Office. Only four businesses are allowed per mailing and none from similar or competing business entities. Your mail will be delivered direct and will avoid the "junk mail" perception when delivered in a Chamber envelope.

• The Chamber Card Program encourages Chamber members to do business with each other - and receive a special discount at the same time. Chamber Cards and a program directory of benefits will be available to member businesses and their employees. Participation in the program is free and open to all Chamber members in good standing.

• Web Page Advertising Opportunities exist for Chamber members on this Web site for minimal costs and maximum exposure for your products and services. Reduced cost advertising opportunities for members also exist in the annual directory, at the annual meeting and in conjunction with the summer golf outing.

• Media and Publicity The Chamber has strong working relationships with The Hartford Courant and The Herald, and will work with you to publicize newsworthy business items and stories, help to orchestrate grand openings, visits by elected officials or special events.
